ABOUT SIAN-PIERRE

Sian-Pierre Regis is an award-winning film director, journalist (CNN/MTV), and community-builder. Over the span of his career, he’s founded an independent online magazine, broken major entertainment stories with global reach, developed and produced content viewed by millions, partnered on impact campaigns with international organizations and commercial brands alike, and moved the needle on how folks perceive key issues like ageism.

While building a life as a contributor on TV, Regis launched an online magazine (Swagger) that garnered 1.5 million Facebook fans, breaking stories at the intersection of pop-culture and social justice. Then in 2016, he pivoted to documentary filmmaking when his mother was fired at age 75—igniting his debut feature Duty Free.

The personal film turned the bucket list idea into a movement-building vehicle that shed light on America’s ageist practices. Duty Free was a #1 Apple News feature, netted 38 million trailer views, premiered at IFC, was covered by nearly every major news outlet, and broadcast on PBS’s Independent Lens. It also created an owned community for the film with over 100,000 followers across social and email.

As a non-fiction maker, Regis cut his teeth at media giants like Viacom, USA Today, and Turner and has received various fellowships from Firelight Media, Film Independent and New America. He’s used his skills to consult and collaborate with brands like AMEX, Spotify, and Coca-Cola on branded storytelling campaigns across digital and social, and scaled impact via partnerships with the World Health Organization and more. As an entrepreneur, he’s raised well-over $1MM in funding for various independent projects through private, foundation, equity and crowdfunding channels.

Regis’s latest non-fiction project, Raising Adults, chronicles "the moment you're called to parent your parent" through emotional and entertaining storytelling. The podcast, which was recently profiled in a July 2025 New York Times Sunday Business cover story, will debut in 2026.

Sian-Pierre is on the Board of Directors at the National Council on Aging, and received and Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Colgate University.
